Slow cookers, crockpots or crock pots? Whatever you call them, they are small electrical appliances, used in homes for over 30 years to cook food slowly. You put in the food and leave it to cook – while you get on with more interesting stuff in life.
Slow cookers and crockpots all look pretty much the same but they vary in size, depending on how many you want to feed, and some of them can be left on a timer. All have removable, dishwashable inners and usually toughened glass lids.
Five sizes:
- 1.5L – for one person
- 3.5L – for up to 4 people (most popular)
- 4.7L – for 4-5 people
- 6.5L – for 5+ people
Two types:
- Manual – 2 or 3 heat settings, you have to turn them on and off
- Programmable – multiple time and temperature settings, great if you are out all day

Prices:
There’s very little difference in price from online stores. I suggest you buy from the company you either usually or prefer to shop from. I like Amazon so the slow cookers and crockpots on my store come from there.
